Specifications of chuck keys (chuck handles)

Q1 How can the model be identified if we would like to purchase a JIS chuck key we currently use?

Q1 How can the model be identified if we would like to purchase a JIS chuck key we currently use?
A1 Check the model referring to the dimensional drawing of chuck keys, or look at the mark on the end face of the axis of the chuck key (chuck handle), which shows the model number of the applicable chuck handle. Pleaseask the detail to us.

Q2 What model of JIS chuck key should be ordered?
A2 For general type for machine tools, choose the model of chuck key according to the size of the drill chuck.
13MG→The applicable chuck key is JH-13.
10MG→The applicable chuck key is JH-10.
6.5MG→The applicable chuck key is JH-6.5.
5MG→The applicable chuck key is JH-5.

  • Chuck keys for drill chucks of which model number accompanies affix of -L or -EL.
    Drill chucks for electric tools or air tools, of which size is smaller by one size, exist as EL type. This EL type (or indicated just as L) model is designed to hold tools of which diameter is larger by one size than the actual size of he chuck. Therefore, even if the chuck is indicated larger, choose one-size smaller chuck key.

13EL→The applicable chuck key is JH-10. (This chuck can hold φ13 tool, but the size of the body is smaller by one size; 10mm as it is EL type)
10EL→The applicable chuck key is JH-6.5. (This chuck can hold φ10 tool, but the size of the body is smaller by one size; 6.5mm as it is EL type)
6.5EL→The applicable chuck key is JH-5. (This chuck can hold φ6.5 tool, but the size of the body is smaller by one size; 5mm as it is EL type)

As for drill chucks and multi chucks for electric / air tools, the chuck keys are handled as the accessories by manufacturers of the electric tools, air tools, and working tools. Therefore, contact them for the chuck keys of which specifications are applicable to the electric tools. Please ask the detail to us.
